About Us
One of us had a great recipe for slow cooker Italian beef. We brought a crock pot to work dumped everything in and fired it up at about 8 a.m. At noon we shared a meal that we would have paid at least twice as much for had we gone out. And, even better, no waiting for a table, trudging out to pick it up or paying a delivery charge.
"Hey this is a great idea! Let's do this again", someone said.
Someone seconded.
The motion carried --- hey we are at work, have to follow those rules of order.
A lunch time tradition was born.
After we got tired of toting a crock pot back and forth, we bought an office crock pot (and a rice cooker so that we'd have something to serve our delectable meals on). Now, several times a week we have a meal. We like to try different things, but most of us like it on the spicier side.
The criteria for our meals is that it has to be cooked on high - it gets put up in the morning and is ready for lunch. The prep work is done at home, so when we get here, we just "plop it in the pot" and fire it up!
We've been doing it for a few months now, and everyone has noticed a fatter wallet.
People who partake of the meals, as well as those who partake of the "smells", have been asking for our recipes - so here they are. Some are our own, some variations on recipes we've found elsewhere. All adapted for our cooking on high.
